| At
last count forty (40) states have some form of
State Continuation Coverage. Generally
speaking State Continuation Coverage is
available to the employees and dependents of
employers who are not subject to COBRA. In
some states, notably Texas and California, State
Continuation may be available once COBRA eligibility
is exhausted.
With fifty (50)
states and fifty-one (51) sets of laws (don't
forget the District of Columbia) the subject of
State Continuation is too broad for this site.
However, there is an excellent resource on this
and many other state related health issues
located at
http://www.statehealthfacts.org
sponsored by the Kaiser Family Foundation.
Specific information on State Continuation can
be found by clicking
HERE.
Regardless of
your state of domicile, TCO will administer any
applicable State Continuation issues. If
you have any questions concerning State
Continuation issues please
email the
Compliance Officer at The Compliance Office.
